Researching Outpatient CDI

We are currently researching the benefits of starting an Outpatient CDI Program at our facility. We have been doing ALOT of reading, but one area is still unclear. The gap analysis. To quote an article from Journal of AHIMA, July 2017, Outpatient CDI: A Solution for Navigating Risk Adjustment: We would need to "verify diagnoses that have been billed during the previous year, using our current billing system, and accessing the Medicare Advantage provider's database.. " Can anyone provide some feedback on this? We have not met with our Business office yet, but it sounds like they would be able to help with this information?

    I believe the business office could assist you- most Medicare Advantage plans provide feedback to organizations related to this to assist you in targeting missed diagnoses or trends.
