Pediatric Metrics

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to benchmark mark my facility pediatric metrics to what is being done nationally.  I would appreciate  help in the following areas:
- Name and State of your facility
- Hospital Size
- Is your hospital a teaching facility
- How many initial reviews versus follow-ups
- Query Goal
- Physician Reponse Rate
- Primary State Payor MS-DRG versus APR-DRG
- Does your facility focus on SOI/ROM movement as welll
- Does your facility cover OB

Thanks in Advance,
Julian

  •  Dell Childrens
    - 224 beds
    - Yes, a teaching facility
    - initial reviews versus follow-ups - 2/3 & 1/3
    - 20-25%
    - Physician Reponse rate 95-97%
    - Primary State Payor APR-DRG
    - Does your facility focus on SOI/ROM movement as welll - getting there
    - Does your facility cover OB - no

Also, there was a sizable survey completed throughout cHA in the past year w good bench marking info that you may be able to see if someone in your facility participated
  • Name and State of your facility: Children's Hosp of WI
    - Hospital Size: 300
    - Is your hospital a teaching facility: Yes
    - How many initial reviews versus follow-ups: The daily goal is that 100% of available reviews are completed each day and on most days we achieve that (avg ~7 new cases per specialist per day). Follow-ups are at CDIS discretion based on quality of provider documentation and the anticipated opportunities to query/more accurately reflect true SOI
    - Query Goal: We have just finished our programs 2nd year, we have a goal of 20% of total cases with a review but find that since our providers have been open to CDI education and incorporation of ICD-10 compliant documentation we do not need queries as often.
    - Physician Reponse Rate: We strive for 100%
    - Primary State Payor MS-DRG versus APR-DRG: combo, but more APR
    - Does your facility focus on SOI/ROM movement as well: Yes
    - Does your facility cover OB: No :)
