Question can Hypertensive heart failure i110 be used a the PDX, and the acute systolic or diastolic heart failure be used as the MCC?

No Chronic kidney disease is evolved.

    Per the code book I110 is used and then an additional code is needed to identify the type of heart failure. If I110 meets the definition of a PDX then yes, it can be used.

    When you use I11.0 as your PDX it does not make the acute systolic or diastolic heart failure a MCC.  That only happens with I13.0Hypertensive heart and chronic kidney disease, which would also require both the acute heart failure and the chronic kidney disease
