Tachycardia: When should you code it?

With the coding guidance of a symptom not being coded along with an associated condition, under what circumstances do you code tachycardia?

I think you are asking when would the tachycardia not be considered integral? That would depend upon the underlying condition or cause of the tachycardia. But I would suggest looking at the patient encounter and evaluating what assessments/treatments were applied to treat the tachycardia. Was the care provided different or above the norm related to the tachycardia. i would suggest you capture related specificity of the tachycardia as appropriate- supraventricular, ventricular and paroxsymal.
