Traumatic ICH HAC

Patient presented s/p fall, initial CT of the head negative. Pt developed hemiparesis 5 days into stay and repeat head CT shows bleed. Documentation states that the bleed is due to the recent head injury/fall at home.

POA status? If I pick no, then it is a HAC.

    I would query the provider for clarification- the initial CT may not have picked up a small bleed that expanded. If the bleed is due to the fall then logically should not be a HAC. the provider could also state that it the POA status is undetermined. Which would not flag a HAC.
